Frequently asked questions
Q: What kind of help do you provide?
A: We offer compassionate, non-clinical support to help make daily life easier and more comfortable. This includes companionship, light housekeeping, errands like prescription collection, meal prep, personal assistance and more- always tailored to your loved one's routine and preferences with focus on their comfort, dignity, and everyday well being.
Q: How do I know your carers are trustworthy?
A: We understand how deeply personal this is. All our carers are carefully selected, thoroughly background checked, insured and trained to treat clients with utmost dignity and respect. We choose people for their experience, compassion, integrity, and dependability, people we'd trust in our own homes, with the same respect and compassion we'd want for our own.
Q: Is there a minimum hours for booking care?
A: Yes, we typically require a minimum booking of one hour (1 hour) per visit to ensure quality support. We'll work with you to find the right fit for your needs.
Q: Will my loved one have the same carer each time?
A: Consistency matters. Wherever possible, we aim to match you with a regular carer who builds familiarity and trust over time. If schedules ever change, we'll always communicate clearly and ensure continuity of care.
Q: Will accepting care make my loved one feel less independent ?
A: We believe in supporting independence, not replacing it. Our role is to gently assist while encouraging clients to remain active in ways that matter most to them if that is their preference. Your loved one's dignity and autonomy come first.
Q: What makes you different from other care services?
A: At Lormena, we're small by design, so every client is treated with personal attention. We lead with heart, empathy, and unwavering respect. We're not just a service; we're a caring presence in your loved one's life.
Q: Can you help with light gardening or pet care?
A: Yes. We offer gentle garden upkeep; watering plants, light weeding, tidying outdoor spaces, and helping your garden stay cared for and inviting. We also care for your furry companions, whether it's sharing a playful moment, feeding them with love, or enjoying a gentle walk together.
Q: Do you offer medical or nursing care?
A: No. Our care is strictly non-clinical. We focus on everyday support that enhances quality of life, from a helping hand around the house, assisting with everyday errands like picking up prescriptions, going to the post office, grocery shopping,(We can go with you or take care of it while you stay comfortably at home), to a kind presence that brings comfort and connection.
Q: Who are your services for?
A: Our services are for the elderly, people with limited mobility, neurodiverse individuals, and anyone needing extra day-today support at home, short term or ongoing.
Q: Do you work weekends or evenings?
A: We do offer flexible scheduling, including weekends and evenings. Please reach out and we'll accommodate your needs.
Q: What if we only need help occassionally?
A: That's perfectly fine. Our services are flexible, whether it's a few hours a week or more frequent visits. We work around your needs and adjust as they change.
Q: What if my loved one doesn’t connect with the carer?
A: Personal connection matters deeply. That’s why we take time to understand your loved one's personality and preferences before matching them with a carer. If something doesn’t feel right, we're always open to finding a better fit.
Q: Can we afford quality care?
A: We believe compassionate care should be accessible, not out of reach. That's why we offer flexible options to suit different needs and budgets, without compromising on the warmth and respect your loved one deserves.
Q: Are your carers trained to handle emotional and social needs, not just tasks?
A: Yes. At Lormena, we believe in caring for the whole person, not just the to-do list. Our carers are chosen for their warmth, empathy, and ability to build genuine, respectful relationships that uplift and reassure.
